Intermolecular interaction in Te[O.sub.2] crystal
Article Abstract:
A study investigates the structure of Te[O.sub.2] molecules by the ab initio restricted Hartree-Fock (RHF) and LMP2 methods. Results show that the abnormal long-range Te-Te intermolecular interaction in Te[O.sub.2] crystals may be related to the tunneling of electrons from the 5[s.sup.2] active lone pairs of [Te.sup.4+] ions and their partial delocalization on neighboring [Te.sup.4+].

Adlayers of Keggin type polytungstate anions on platinum: negligible electrochemical signatures and manifestations of "molecular UPD"
Article Abstract:
Second-harmonic generation and electrochemical techniques have been applied to characterize the adsorption of Keggin type heteropolyanions on polycrystalline platinum. A qualitative model has been proposed for polytungstate interaction with adsorbed oxygen, which explains the observed hysteresis phenomena.

2-D mesoparticulate arrays of alpha-Cr(sub 2)O(sub 3)
Article Abstract:
Fabrication of large two-dimensional (2-D) arrays is done without any applied external field. This is useful for unique nonreciprocal optical effects observed in alpha-Cr(sub 2)O(sub 3).
